3 SPECIFIC REFORMS1. CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM
It should be illegal to give money to a politician period. Bribes are illegal and that is precisely what campaign contributions are. Why do we allow this? Corporations give money to gain influence. This influence plays a major part in EVERY decision our leaders make. 2. END ELECTORAL COLLEGE The current system creates complicated political strategies which distract us from the real issues. Worse yet with this system having the most votes does not mean you win the election. This has happened 3 times in our counties history. 3. TERM LIMITS FOR CONGRESS. Our new system should be designed to discourage corruption and influence in every way possible. It's human nature to seek and then hold onto Power. A system that allows for unlimited terms in a powerful office opens the door for favors by special interests.  |
